Trevor Burnard (1960-2024) was a member of the CAPASIA Advisory Board until his death in July 2024. He was Professor of History at the University of Hull, where he was the Director of the Wilberforce Institute for the Study of Slavery and Emancipation. A specialist in the history of the Atlantic world, Trevor was a key figure in the study of enslavement and slave plantations. His many books include Mastery, Tyranny, and Desire: Thomas Thistlewoode and His Slaves in the Anglo-Jamaican World (2004); Jamaica in the Age of Revolution (2020); Writing the History of Global Slavery (2023); and Writing Early America: From Empire to Revolution (2023).
